In today’s environment of increased competition, diminishing resources, and unexpected challenges, the need for cross-sector collaboration is more important than ever before. DBIA proudly stands as the only membership organization bringing together thousands of organizations and individuals representing architects, engineers, public and private owners, general and specialty contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, students, college and university faculty, legal, insurance and finance professionals, consultants and many more. Only at DBIA do all these professionals meet face-to-face as equals engaged in a sincere effort to indentify challenges and develop solutions that benefit the entire industry. For this reason alone, no matter what other specialized organization you belong to, DBIA membership is essential.
DBIA offers two membership options: Individual Membership and Industry Partner Membership
Individual Members enjoy benefits such as:
- Networking and Collaboration: Partnering and teaming with other design and construction industry firms is an integral part of design-build. DBIA provides conferences, forums, journals and workshops for individuals to "network" and share experiences and approaches to design-build and integrated services with colleagues and owners.
- Professional Development: DBIA provides access to the cutting edge techniques, tools and procedures for effective and efficient training through its numerous educational opportunities (including Designated, Design-Build Professional™ and Certificate of Mastery Programs).
- Information: Members enjoy access to leading design-build publications, including Design-Build DATELINE and other specialized industry journals.
- Committee Involvement and Awards: DBIA members are able to hone their leadership skills through active participation in a wide range of committee activities such as: planning conferences; recognizing outstanding member and chapter contributions; developing special reports and publications; and commenting on legislation.
- Advocacy and Legislative Leadership: Members work together to promote integrated services and educate owners of the value of design-build. DBIA advocates change in laws and regulations to encourage equal opportunity for design-build and integrated services delivery.
- Access to Regional DBIA Offices: DBIA maintains a network of sixteen regional offices that advance design-build and promote networking locally. Student Chapters are also expanding and increasing in number at leading colleges and universities.
